Bibi’s Last April

[Verse 1] April came quiet Then it took your hand Bibi, you kept standing Like a deep-rooted man You wore your pain softly Never asked for praise Still you lit the room up Even on your hardest days [Pre-Chorus] And we saw your faith In the way you stayed Through the long night calls Through the body’s ache You did not fold You did not run You held on, Bibi Till your race was done [Chorus] Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name You fought till the end We won’t forget the flame Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name (oh, Bibi) April first still sings Of the man you became [Verse 2] Hands on the table Family all close Eyes full of prayer And a love that knows Every borrowed morning Every final breath You kept your heart open Even close to death [Pre-Chorus] And we saw your faith In the way you stayed Through the long night calls Through the body’s ache You did not fold You did not run You held on, Bibi Till your race was done [Chorus] Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name You fought till the end We won’t forget the flame Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name (oh, Bibi) April first still sings Of the man you became [Bridge] If heaven has a doorway It opened wide for you No more pain in your body No more mountains to move We’ll carry your story Like a candle in rain And when we speak your name It will bless us again [Final Chorus] Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name You fought till the end We won’t forget the flame Bibi, rest your name Bibi, rest your name (rest in power) April first still sings Of the man you became
